Location(s): Manhattan, NY (required to travel to other boroughs for events, etc)

Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm

Wage: $20.65/hr - $23.92/hr

  • Perform core administrative tasks including data entry, drafting and proofreading correspondence, organizing and maintaining files, answering phone and email inquiries, and preparing and managing spreadsheets
  • Assist with the coordination of recruitment activities, including job fairs and workshops
  • Research and propose various recruitment methods and strategies based on available roles and the hiring needs of the City using online resources
  • Review and screen resumes collected from recruitment events based on set criteria and update the resume database
  • Assist in managing the calendar of recruitment events, including adding events and updating changes as needed
  • Perform outreach to job seekers to promote City jobs and recruitment events and track all correspondence
  • Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community-based organizations, colleges, faith-based institutions, etc
  • Participate in confidential and non-confidential conferences and meetings regarding the planning and development of recruitment events and related projects
  • Attend and participate in job fairs and recruitment events virtually and across all five boroughs
  • Manage background checks, participate in civil service hiring pools, liaison with Divisions and other city agencies, process DP-72 and DP200 I transactions, process actions NYCAPS, personnel database and fingerprinting
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively with various teams
  • Highly organized, attentive to detail and responsive to all forms of communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills: MS Office with a strong preference for Excel and PowerPoint experience
Prior experience & qualifications
  • This position requires consistently moving throughout various floors/building location(s) some with stairs in high stress environment
  • Human Resources Recruitment experience is a plus
