Various Locations: New York City, Westchester County, Fairfield & New Haven Counties in Connecticut
Hours: PART-TIME (1-2 days per week – must have a flexible schedule)
Reliable and conscientious workers needed for railroad projects.
Duties include:
- Counting passengers on-board and getting on and off trains using mechanical hand-tally counters
- Distributing and collecting survey questionnaires onboard trains and at stations
What you need to have
Skills
- Basic reading and arithmetic skills required with the ability to follow instructions
- Possess good interpersonal skills to interact with passengers and staff
- Able to read public train timetables and be familiar with transit territory, station names and train destinations
- Able to walk through a 10-car train and stand and walk for long periods
- Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work all shifts (weekends, late nights, holidays - AM & PM peak times) and able to travel
- Passenger counts and/or survey collection and distribution may begin or end at any time during a 24-hour period, and frequently begins in the early morning
- Some areas where applicants will be conducting counts may be very hot or cold depending on weather conditions
- This position requires prolonged walking/standing
